1. Download Java (JDK) 7 for Windows First, you have to download the Java (JDK) installation kit for Windows from theOracle archive (for Java 7). The JDK includes tools useful for developing and testing programs written in the Java programming language and running on the JavaTM platform. You have also to know how to download the latest Java (JDK) version if you have to, but for the moment I will present in this article how to install Java (JDK) 7 on Windows. ATTENTION: Be carful to choose the right version of JDK for Windows (32 bit or 64 bit).This older version of the JDK is provided to help developers debug issues in older systems. This is not updated with the latest security patches and is not recommended for use in production. 2. Java CPU (7u79) vs PSU (7u80) release ATTENTION: Java SE Critical Patch Updates (CPU) contain fixes to security vulnerabilities and critical bug fixes. Oracle strongly recommends that all Java SE users upgrade to the latest CPU releases as they are made available. Most user should choose this release. ATTENTION: Java PSU releases should only be used if you are being impacted by one of the additional bugs fixed in that version.
